Rep. Mark Harris fights foreign interference on America's campuses

WASHINGTON, DC— On Thursday, Representative Mark Harris (NC-08) issued the following statement on the DETERRENT Act:

"We cannot let our colleges and universities be used as a gateway for foreign enemies to influence future generations,” said Representative Harris. “Americans deserve better than for trillions of their taxpayer dollars to be spent on universities with financial ties to those who do not have our students’ best interests in mind. I was proud to vote to pass the DETERRENT Act, which includes the language from H.R. 938, which is my bill to crack down on foreign money and influence flowing to our schools. The next generation must not fall prey to the harmful, anti-American ideologies that have polluted too many young minds.”
