Education

Congressman Harris’s views on education are rooted in personal experience as his wife, Beth, along with his daughter, have dedicated their lives to teaching. Not only does he deeply value the role of educators in shaping the future, but he also believes the federal government has failed our students. Despite soaring spending, outcomes continue to decline. It's time to return control of education to the states and local communities, as our Founders intended.
As a member of the House Education Committee, Congressman Harris recognizes that parents must have a voice in what their children are taught. Congressman Harris strongly supports the rights of parents to oversee curriculum content and challenge radical ideologies in the classroom. He opposes Critical Race Theory and gender ideology being forced on students and believes transparency and accountability are essential. He also supports school choice—whether public, charter, private, or homeschool—so every child can learn in an environment that aligns with their family’s values.
