WASHINGTON, DC — Representative Mark Harris (NC-8) was selected to serve on the House Judiciary, Agriculture, and Education and Workforce Committees for the 119th Congress.

Congressman Harris said, “It is a tremendous honor to be selected for the House Judiciary Committee. The rule of law and our Constitutionally guaranteed liberties are what allow every citizen the opportunity to flourish in this country. I am committed to working alongside Chairman Jordan and the Committee to ensure that no one is denied their God-given rights to life, liberty, or the pursuit of happiness. Time to get to work!”

The Committee on the Judiciary oversees a wide range of issues relating to the administration of justice and rule of law in the United States including Homeland Security, the Courts, Crime and Terrorism, and Antitrust, Commercial, and Administrative Law.

“As a native North Carolinian, agriculture has always had a special place in my heart, and I’m incredibly honored to serve on this committee to put farmers first,” Congressman Harris said. “Agriculture is the backbone of our great nation, and North Carolina’s 8th district is no exception! I look forward to working alongside Chairman GT Thompson and the Committee to enact President Trump’s agenda to help America’s farmers.”

The Committee on Agriculture has jurisdiction over all matters related to farming, including livestock, forestry, nutrition and other agriculture related fields.

Congressman Harris said, “As a father of three and grandfather of ten, I understand how crucial it is to ensure that our country’s next generation is equipped to lead. I look forward to working with Chairman Walberg and the Committee to remove woke, anti-American curriculum in public schools, fight antisemitism on college campuses, and prepare Americans to succeed in the workforce. Let’s get to work!”

The Committee on Education and Workforce oversees all matters relating to every stage of education in the country as well as labor policies, including but not limited to pensions, health care, worker’s compensation and temporary worker programs.
