Rep. Mark Harris Targets Child Predators In New Bill

WASHINGTON, DC — On Monday, Representative Mark Harris (NC-08) introduced legislation aimed at protecting children from predators and ensuring severe legal consequences for exploiting minors.

“Protecting our children from sexual exploitation is one of the government's most sacred duties—yet dangerous loopholes in federal law allow predators to evade justice and exploit minors. We must act now to close these gaps, eliminate ambiguities, and equip law enforcement with tools to prosecute criminals fully and without excuse. Said Representative Harris, Congress must act now to strengthen our laws and deliver real protections, ensuring that criminals who use children in any sexually exploitative context face real justice.”

The Child Predators Accountability Act of 2025 addresses the gaps in federal law that allow predators to escape justice and exploit minors. It clarifies the language and provides law enforcement with the necessary tools to prosecute these criminals effectively and comprehensively.
